I came here looking for knowledge on my legal rights and recourse in the following situtaion.

A co-worker approached me and another employee with an offer to get concert tickets from a ticket broker friend of her's for an upcoming concert. I gave her cash, the other party gave her a check. Months have now past...the concert came and went...we got story after story ( including the ticket broker's apparent death ) and still no refund on our money. Every time we ask, we keep getting told she'll get the money for us. Is there any legal recourse we can take? No receipts were given.

Thank you for your help.

If you have sufficient proof that the money was paid to her, then take (or at least threaten to take) her to Small Claims court.

In fact, the two of you can both sue her and support each others case in court.
