we had a loan for a boat we got when we lived in ky.the company we financed through sent us a clear title showing a release of lien. they also called my wife and ask why we sent another check that the loan was paid off my wife told them she thought they were mistaken but they sent title anyway. we had moved to missouri by this time and they had sent it to missouri address.we took the clear title and traded it for a car. now several months later another loan company calls and writes says they want pay off or to pick up the boat. knowing we still owed money to the other loan company we did send the new company payments because they said it would show up on our =credit report if we didn't..but when looking into it .it had already showed up.
what are our options in this matter? what can they do to us for selling the boat when we had a clear title? they say they have the title how can that be? what should we do? what are the options we have?
