What is the name of your state? the stae is ny,my children were molested by a 15 year old,courts were only give him probation, well i faught that but in the mean time, i had flyers made up with his picture and crime put on them and i also included his mothers name, but i told the whole truth and handed them out threw the new town she moved the kid to, from what i heard her lawyers said to someone, that a store clerk said a girl with blonde hair handed them out, and they may have me on survalliance tape, can i get in any trouble because this is all true info, his school district pulled him out of school for the incident he did, i was just proteceting my sons and the community, i found out today that in the courts he will be getting sent out in november, it is only because i have fought so hard, what could happen to me in the worse case, Can i go to jail? or be sued,??/thanks Ny

As long as your information is accurate and truthful you have a right to inform others about this molester. In fact, if there were more parents like you there would less of these subhumans willing to prey on other kids.

Everything in the flyer was true, except i told the mothers name so what i hear is that they are going to try to get me for defacing her name,she dates a detective in which police reports were stolen, cps has been called to her house 2 years prior for the child touching his daughter that report was closed because of the dtective alot of bull has gone on with the case, now probation is saying that they will close the molestoers file which is wrong they said he is a pedophile, i believe his case should be public notice and scoiety should be notified, i am looking for every law about it in ny state, it is bull i am fighting single handed against the courts and everything,they would not let me hire a lawyer because it is the DA duty, i feel that is wrong, they say i cant sue the parents because they have nothing, i feel lost, but i will fight till the end, i know the mother was aware of the kids actions before my son came and told me what has been going on...if i get the cps records somehow, i have the proof she knew the kid was touching little kids.....I hope i win in the end i will not give up, i have wriiten to pataki, and all the hire ups but they give no responses...If anyone can offer any advice,please let me know and thank you so much for your time, But i will definitely not let it rest until i change the laws, can you guys imagine if he is doing this at 15 what he will be doing when he is 30...thanks

Actually, you do have a civil suit if the parents knew the boy had a history of molesting other kids. It sounds like that's been established. You can't start or prosecute a criminal case against the boy, but you can get a good PI lawyer and go after the family.

Typically, what happens if someone thinks you have defamed them or slandered them by saying things or putting things in writing that defames their character (libel), they could bring a lawsuit against you but it is their responsibility to prove that you were saying things or writing things that were untrue and can't be proven. It sounds like this family has a significant amount of legal trouble already and that it might not be possible for them to prove you wrong. If they do sue you, sue them back for malicious prosecution. Something similar happened to me...my child was molested, along with 47 other children at a day care center. It went to court and the case got thrown out of court because the judge determined that the children were too young to testify. (this was over 20 years ago in California) After the suit, the perpetrator sued all of the parents, including his former wife, for slander. He lost that case because he could not prove that anything anyone said was false.
