Last night a teacher saw a girl hand me 2 bottles of ginger ale in the school parking lot. The girl had had alcohol in her car and I thought this was all she had so I was taking it off school property to get rid of it so she couldn't get in trouble. After I left the teacher had the girls car searched and found a 6 pack of smirnoff. I took the 2 bottles, which had smirnoff in them as well, to walmart where my boyfriend took them and got rid of them. The girl and I are both 16 and my boyfriend is 17. We all have clean records. What can the cops do to each of us?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Possible jail time.

In addition, transportation of alcoholic beverages (since it was in the car) could cost $500 plus 30 day license suspension.

I would suggest consulting with an attorney. It is not unusual for the first offense to be plea bargained to probation, but I wouldn't want to try this without an expert.

Only because you haven't been caught before, right? Tell your parents (if you haven't before) and ask them to help you find a lawyer. Then, if you don't already have one, find a job - any job - to pay for that lawyer. Your parents shouldn't have to foot the bill for your foolishness.
