my ex-boyfriend had me served with a protective order (restraining order) and i'm supposed to appear in court soon. his accusations are inaccurate and i do not know what i can do and what my rights are. he states that i showed up at his door, intoxicated, caused a scene and threatened him. this is not true.

i did knock on his door and ask to speak with him, when he said no, i left. apparently he called 911 and filled a report stating that i was intoxicated, caused a scene and threatened him. this is simply not true. he has threatened me several times in the past and told me that he would ruin my career. i have no proof of his threats except for my word. he is from a wealthy family and he knows that i am vunerable to anything of a legal nature. i have no family. he is using the system to try and ruin my reputation and career. what can i do?

My response:

Not only does your question have nothing to do with divorce, separation or annulment, but it's not even a Family Law matter; i.e., you've posted to the wrong board.

Please consult with a local attorney.
