What is the name of your state? CT
I am a 17 year old female... currently i live at home with my mom and twin sister. My parents are divorced and my dad lives in the northern part of the state. My mom has recently decided that she and her boyfriend are going to buy a house about an hour away. I work full time I have two jobs but no car. Both jobs are within walking distance so now its not a problem. I do NOT want to move with my mom. she keeps telling me she wishes that i would change my mind about not going to college for a year. She says that as long as im in school ill have insurance. but i also know that as long as im in school shell still collect the social security disability she gets from my dad. What are my rights to that money if i move out before hand? What are my rights to get a place to live? What can I do to insure myself? I just need some options so im not stuck in 2-3 months...

Money your mother is receiving is probably in leiu of child support. You aren't entitled to that. If you are capable of being on your own, paying your own rent, insurance, car payment, then you don't need it. To be emancipated you would have to do it all alone, you can't live with someone else that will be providing support of any kind. If your employers doesn't offer insurance you can get it on your own but it is very expensive.
