I'm going take a wild guess: you weren't present during the incident that resulted in this arrest.

The best way to help your son:
1) don't post details about his case,
2) do what you can to obtain a competent lawyer for him, and
3) present him with resources that can help him with the issue(s) that got him into this mess (but be prepared for him to reject it).

This is not the first time that he has gotten in trouble. Frankly, once you get in trouble, you have to stop associating with people who can get you into trouble. Which your son did not.

Well...obviously, the cop who arrested him thought he did have a firearm. But you say he didn't. How do you know? Were you present for the incident that resulted in his arrest?

Also, August 8?? What has happened in the nearly three months since the arrest occurred?

how to drop charges ?

Why would they drop the charges? They're certainly not going to drop the charges just because you want them to do so.

Rather obviously, your son needs the services of a criminal defense attorney.

Here is a link to Oklahoma’s penalties for violating the Firearms Act, §21-1289.15, followed by a link to §21-1289.16, the Felony Pointing Firearms statute.

You can find an attorney for your son by clicking “Finding a Lawyer” on the Oklahoma Bar Organization’s website: https://www.okbar.org/public/

It sounds as if your son has been in trouble before. Counseling for him, and for your whole family, is something you might want to consider.
