What is the name of your state? Michigan
I'm filing chapter 7 because of a large amount of personal debt I acquired with a small business that I just closed a couple months ago. I had the Meeting of Creditors this week, and have to go back in a couple weeks because the trustee wanted to review my case more....I don't think she was too happy because she really wants to find a way to get to about $60k in equity in my home. The house was purchased soley by my wife before we were married, my name has never been on the deed. All the debt for the bankruptcy is completly in my name, she's not on any of it and she's not filing bankruptcy. The house was put into my wife's trust about two years ago to avoid probate if something happened to her, and the trustee wanted to review the trust paperwork too. My name is on the trust, but only as a trustee of her trust, so I have control of her assets if she were to die. What can the trustee be looking for? I've done my best to keep my wife completely out of my business/personal debt for this reason, and I don't think the trustee likes that, especially when I'm looking at getting about $450k in loans/credit cards and another $400k lawsuit discharged. Anything I should be worried about or researching to prepare for another meeting?
