i have applied for a k1 visa for my fiancee who lives in colombia. the date of reciept is 12/8/04
my question is...what will the consular office in colombia consider income? i am currently substitute teaching, recieving financial for my studies and also recieve weekly checks from worksman compensation while my case is settled. i chose to return to college and become a high school teacher because i am unable to perform my previous occupation, i.e. carpenter.
will all of my income above be considered? i am single no other dependents and recieve apx 35,000 per year in wc benefits and tax refunds and college financial aide, will this be sufficient to qualify my fiancee for a visa (our relationship is a year and a half)? i know that this is more than double the proverty income level for two people, but my lack of a permenant employment hurt out chances? should i abandon my studies and look for other employment to qualify my fiancee?
my previous income in my employment was also apx 35,000 per year.
also, my fiancee has a guaranteed job working for my cousin who manages a retail appliance store, will this help with the visa?
