PipandPop said:Let's just say, if someone left a iron on and it burned my business and put me out of business for a period of time. Then that persons insurance attorneys say that it was a act of god and that is why they are not going to pay. Just how strong of defense is that? Can the insurance attorneys change their defense after they have replied and said this? Thanks
HomeGuru said:**A: that's not an act of God, it would be an act of mere stupidity.
Now do you have any other homework questions?
PipandPop said:Then the insurance attorneys attempt to say it was due to a Act of God would not hold up in court? Is it negligence? Can the insurance attorneys change there defense now that they have responded?

PipandPop said:Let's say if The business next door left an iron on and it put me out of business for several months. The fire was over 1 year ago. Now, the other buiness insurance attorneys(where the fire started) are saying it was due to a Act of God and that is why they are not paying. I believe it was due to neg. for not turning off and unplugging the iron. Fire marshal report said cause of fire: left iron to close to combustable items. The person has even told many people that she accidently left the iron on. My business is not back to pre fire, I have lost a lot. This has caused a lot of stress, depression and such in my family's life, my life and of course in my business. I have begged, barrowed and put a lot on credit cards. I can not believe how much credit cards will let you raise your limits too. I was injured in the fire. I needed two operations. I am just a regular small business owner that was profitable before the fire. I would like to know is it possible the her insurance attorneys can possible win now that they have finally responded and said it was due to an Act of God, thus we are not paying? Can the insurance attorneys change their response? I don't know how good my attorneys are. We just hope and pray they are good. Thanks

Amos 1:3-4
Thus says the LORD,
"For three transgressions of
Damascus and for four
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they threshed Gillead with
implements of sharp iron.
"So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael
And it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad."
What, you don't have the book of Amos memorized?ENASNI wrote:
