I have been to court on a Felony charge; it was a status conference. An offer was made, 5 years flat, my Lawyer advised me not to take it. Of course I did not. I am now slated for another status conerence. What exactly is a status conference & how long can this go back and forth?

Status conferences are just pretrial court dates in which offers are made and rejected, and attorneys bring to the court's attention matters such as discovery difficulties, requests for continuances are made, etc. The number of status conferences depends on the complexity of the case and the number of pretrial problems that come up.
