I live in Caifornia and I was pulled over for no tail lights in my Big rig Diessel. They asked me if I had any hand guns with me and I said what kinda question is that? The female officer said "It shows here that you are the registered owner of several hand guns and I just wanted to know if you had any with you". I said ooh, I see, In that case yes I do. She then instructed me to direct the other officer to the gun. I told him that it was in my black bag in the back of the sleeper. He searched for about 15 to 20 min. and found nothing. He then called on his little radio to the female officer and said that he couldn't find it. I gave him some other possabilties and he still couldn't find it. I had begun to think that maybe I took it out or forgot to put it in there. 10min later he finds it in the sleeper under some blankets and pillows in its case. The problem was that I still had it loaded. They are currently holding my gun until I obtain a ccw. Did they have the right to hold me there that long and is it considered carrying a concealed weapon if it is in the sleeper portion of my tractor?
