What is owed at time of termination?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona
I was told to fill out the "E-Verify" form uopn being hired. I did and took iinto into the Social Security office as requested. I was told there that my info was correct and that all was fine. Three weeks later I was told mid shift by my boss that I was being terminated due to infomation on my E-Verify form. I have two questions. First, since it was confirmed by the Social Security office that my infomation was correct and that the error was made by my employer, not me,was I wrongfully terminated? Secondly, how long does my employer have to pay me after I was let go? I was let go on 10/21/09 and was told I was to be paid my last check on 11/10/09. Is this legal?

No, that is not even close to the definition of a wrongful termination. A wrongful term means that there is a specific law that prohibits the employer from firing you for the reason he did. It does not mean that you were fired because the employer mistakenly believes that some information was incorrect.

I'm not where I can look up the requirements for final pay in your state but that does seem a tad long to me. Patty?

What is the employer saying? That your SSN/name combo came up as a mismatch? Or something more than that? See page 27 of this document.

They are saying that my birthdate/ social dont match. The social security office has stated that all is correct on my end. The problem is that my employer never responded to the conclusion form that the ss office sent them, therefore keeping my original status of the situation open. That is why I was terminated, but it was through no fault of my own. Having to wait almost a month for my final paycheck seems a bit too long to me also.
