Went to twp board re: riding stable neighbor renting for parties -- neighbor was notified of complaint but did not show to mtg. Twp says any decisions made at twp mtgs will not apply to neighbor due to sunshine law which requires he be present. Does this mean if he never shows, he can continue as is regardless of decisions made by board?

Thanks.

In Washington, the sunshine law refers to the law that requires 'government in the sunshine.' This means that the county council can't hold secret meetings & must give adequate notice of its agenda before it acts. The notice requirement can be waived if the person the council is discussing is actually present. Otherwise, the state-mandated time between notice and action must pass befroe the council may act. Perhaps this is what the twp meant?
