What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

In New York City I filed for a divorce on the 3/6/2012 and when I went online to check the status, it says I filed it on the 3/9/2012 and the first appearance was on the 12th.

It Reads:
Appearance Date - 3/12/2012
On For - Supreme Initial (first time on)
Appearance Outcome is BLANK

However I did not receive any letters about making an appearence. Does anyone know if I was supposed to receive a letter in the mail? Was I supposed to make an appearance? Or what does this "Supreme Initial (first time on)" mean?

Oh GOD I hope I didn't miss a court date

Sounds like you might have.

Check e-courts (http://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcivil/ecourtsMain) to find the name of the judge assigned to your case, then call that Judge's clerk (http://www.nycourts.gov/supctmanh/part_assignments.htm) and ask them about the scheduling. If, in fact, there was a conference scheduled that you did not get notice of, then it should be a simple matter to have it re-scheduled (you may need to send a letter or something equally easy).

Once you have that all straightened out, sign up for e-track so that you won't have to worry about missing any future notices or court activity:

Ok so I checked the judge name but the name nor is the Part on the link you gave me http://www.nycourts.gov/supctmanh/part_assignments.htm. It was assigned PT 63. I don't even see PT 63 here http://www.nycourts.gov/courts/11jd/supreme/civilterm/civil_partrules.shtml

Yes, I saw that, however there is another Justice assigned to my case when I looked it up online I guess I will have to wait until Monday to call.

Okay, great I called and they said that the 3/12/12 date was the date that all documents were submitted to the judge. I did not miss anything.
