I live in South Carolina. What is the salary that you must earn in a year before the government stops taking FICA-HI tax? I have earned over $81,000 YTD and I thought that the FICA-HI would have stopped by now.

yes, I am not certain of the current FICA cap, but in 1999 it was $72,000. Point this our to your HR or personnel, because it saves them money too.
