i recently bought a 7 year old house in fort collins colorado. before buying i hired a home inspector. inspector said the house was in good shape. i did the inspectioon with him. asked about the foundation, roof, and siding. he said all where fine. in february i hired a second inspector because i was told i have structural damamge. the second inspector said there is major structural damage - have to have the concrete basement floor removed and replaced with a floating wood floor (expansive soils), walls have to be floated, roof has problems, gutters need to be replaced, siding was not applied properly, etc. also it appears the previous owners tried to patch all the cracks that are now resurfacing. if the first inspector had told me these things i would have walked away from the house or offered much less. do i have a case? what type of lawyer do i need?

Yes;...a R.E. lawyer , or anyone who does general litigation.
However, you better determine whether the 1st inspector has any insurance to cover a law suit. Otherwise, you'll be trying to get blood out of a rock.
