I*happen to have a 3 year old judgement of around 1,500. I have been unemployed and disabled since then and have absolutely no income. I was denied disability benefits, however and I'm currently fighting for them. Occasionally I do get financial help from friends and relatives and I currently live with my roommate. Around 4 years ago I gave my roommate my car in exchange for a place to stay as I no longer drive. The title is in their name as I've transferred the car to them back then. I'm worried, however that the judgement will eventually catch up with me and also worried all of their stuff will be taken because of this. I'm not worried for my stuff since I have almost nothing to my name, no jewelry, arts, I'm barely keeping my checking account in the + , however I'm worried about my roommate's stuff. If they take my roommates stuff I will surely be kicked out rendering me homeless. Can they do that? Can they even collect personal property here in IL? I assume all of our belongings are worth well below $3000 combined. (not including their vehicle). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
