I have a friend in Florida. Someone has stolen her proprietary material, and has setup a make shift website where they are selling it.

What steps should she take to:
A) Find out who owns the site?
B) Shut down the site?
C) Press charges against the site owner?

Go to http://www.register.com and enter the URL of the site. It will tell you who owns the site and who the server provider of the site is. From there you can contact the provider and see what their policy is concerning your dilemma. If your friend chooses to sue, she will have to go to the state of the person that stole the material. Good luck.
