I live in Illinois. I am a disabled person who lives in low income housing. On 07-14-2005 I received an Order of Possession over me owing $25 for an air conditioning charge.I had not received notice of the charge and it was from 06 of 2005. This means that I had paid my rent since and had no knowledge of the debt. I have paid it as of 07-18-2005 and defeated the order of possession by doing so. I and several others were angered by the lack of respect the Housing Authority showed by serving us with orders of possession over usually small amounts of money. I alone decided to do something about it, so I printed up some fliers and shoved one under every ones door. They stated the exact following.

14 day notice? (in big letters)
Have you received a 14 day notice?
Is it over a small amount of money?
Did you not get a notice in wrighting before concerning the debt?
Do you feel your rights have be violated?
If so you should call the following.

___________end of flier___________________

Then today the 19 of 07 2005 The district manager (i think she is the district manager) saw me down stairs with a friend and asked me if I had done made the flier. I said yes and after a few short words she left and came back with a "Lease Violation Notice" and it says that the reason I have received the notice is "Passing out fake information". I need to know if I should seek legal repercussions or should I not do that and go through other means like the local news channels or papers?

Of course you should seek legal help, you should have done that before passing out fliersm if only to find out your rights BEFORE passing out anything.
