What should I do

Hi everyone I live in upstate New York about 80 miles from the city. I was trying to bore sight some of my guns, and I know this man who owns lots of private land that i use to hunt on, I use to hunt it alot and never had trouble, and never see anyone there cause its posted and the man dont want no one else there. So when i drove there I parked my car where I normaly park about 10 feet away from the road completley on the grass on private property, but noticed there was a shiref driving by slow. I waited unlit he went by then go out and went to get my bore sight and guns out, then i noticed the officers had turned around so unsted of walking out in the field put the gun back in the hard case, cause the cops here will most likley draw a gun on me if he seen it. They pulled up real fast and yelled what the hell do you think you are doing, so i said bore sighting a gun I just pulled up a minute ago, and before i could explain my self he tlod me to get the hell up on the car. I was trying to explain to him who owned the land and he was on private property and he told me I was lieing and If i didnt stop his friend was going to put me on the ground cuff me and bring me to the station. He then went into my car took my 12g, my .308, and my .22 along with my diabetie pills that were in bottle in my pocket and ran the serial #. And the only way to know they were there was to go in my car. I dont have a record, I dont do drugs, dont drink, I have 4 kids and a girl friend that is a nurse. . It took about a half hour but ha gave me my stuff back but looked confused or that he knew what he was doing was wrong, then left. I was so confused and shock up from the ordeal that i wanted to go home to see my kids I noticed the stupit cop leaned my guns against the metal opening of my door, but on my 12g I noticed a chip in the paint that was just put there, it was in a hard case when i brought it and couldnt have done it , I realize that it did have a few scratches but none to the metal, and it was a presant to me fror my AV about 7 years ago. Im not to sure what to do about the matter, the officers were verbaly abusive, and had no right in my opinion to do what they did, I cant even sleep im so frustrated. Im affraid if I file a complaint they are just going to give them a slap on there hands and harass me and my girlfriend. Do they have the right to even go in the car, there is no way they even seen the guns.

Sorry I tried to make it short. What would give them the right to even walk over to me without the owners consent, and the nick on the gun.

Gee... maybe the fact that YOU were trespassing!!

Nothing in there at all about having his CURRENT permission to trespass, or even park, on HIS property.

and the nick on the gun.

Of course, they didn't have 'permission' to put a 'nick' on the gun. However, since you admitted that the gun had "a few scratches", how do you propose to PROVE that they caused the nick to happen??
