What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? north carolina
i started a job one and a half year ago, before i got the job i was homeless but i managed to get a home and been trying to do well in this job. well i started to chating with the teens about the types of enjoyment they would like to have in the area because all the other places for kids were shut down. this started the managers at my job questioning what i was doing....then one started saying i was a child molester, and later called me gay and pregnant.. im a male so it kinda bothers me, but then she tells others and all of a suddon for over a year i had to put up with being treated like im an outsider, told to do thing while others stood around, even if im doing something else. been yelled at for taking too long in the drive through when others talk for 2 minutes with customers. now they are telling me to quit and treating me like a problem in their store...they even though i called ins on them which i did not. and when i spoke with their the regional manager what i said to him was told to my store owner and she toold the managers. what am i to do?

Unfortunately, nothing in your post indicates that your employer is doing anything illegal. My best advice to you is to put your head down, work as hard as you can, stop chitchatting with the customers, search for another job in your free time, and if you're fired/forced to resign from this job, apply for UI benefits.

according to you being called a child molestor is ok, and a homosexual when im not one, and constantly being treated different than anyone else in my work...i guess them telling me to quit and slandering my name at work is ok too. and saying i called ins on them when i did not? this all does not sound right

Please show me exactly where in my post I said I thought all this was okay. I have re-read my post several times and I can't see where I've said anything of the sort.

What I did say is that none of this stuff is illegal. It is legal for your employer to call you a child molester and a homosexual, to tell you to quit, to accuse you of calling the INS, and to treat you differently than your coworkers. While I may personally disagree with this behaviour, again, it is legal.

This may not "sound right" to you, however it is perfectly accurate information. If you didn't want accurate information, you should have said so in your first post.

Furthermore, I don't make the laws and while I personally may or may not agree with them, I cannot be held accountable for said laws. If you want the law changed, this forum is not the place to do it; to get the law changed, you should speak to your congressperson.

The definition of name-calling is offensive, however, it is not illegal. In a case where the name-calling issue is not handled pro-actively even after being reported to human resources, which is usually separate from supervisor reporting, then you have a case to work with legally. The whole issue is that you are responsible for your actions, your words, and your behavior, no matter what is happening. In the company handbook are the rules for behavior and the process in which to report incidents. There is also a place to contact human resources. During your orientation with the company, you should have received all this information.
