I was just wondering what I should be expecting in terms of settlement so I don't get ripped off by the insurance company which has played "hot potato" with my case and is not my fave company in the world.....I was rear ended (witnessed by the guy in front of me that I was pushed into) and cracked 4 of my teeth (saw her, shouldn't have braced, but oh well, better teeth than my neck or head, right?), all of which I have had root canaled (not sure if that's proper wording) after trying to get by for a year with them hurting more than I realized to avoid root canals. I know the insurance company needs to pay for what I've had done, and what I can be expected to need in the future including more crowns, and possibly/probably implants/dentures in the future (I was only 28 when this happened, got a lot more years and not much teeth under those crowns). I can sort of estimate the cost of those services, but what about the whole "pain and suffering" bit? I'm not trying to take advantage of this situation, and I'm not litigious by nature, but I don't want to get screwed, and we are talking about my very front teeth. Just loved walking around with big fake looking temporary crowns, and dang those teeth did hurt, and now thanks to this bimbo I will have to have the crowns done repeatedly over the rest of my life. I want to know what's fair, or what I can reasonably ask for. I have a lawyer, but I'm not sure she's ever done a teeth case, and I like to know for myself what is reasonable. If anyone has any experience in this and can advise me what reasonably expect and I guess what is too little and means the ins company is trying to screw me over. Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.
