I just need to know what the age that a judge would take into consideration for a child to decide who he/she wants to reside with in Colorado?

Not completely sure on Colorado, but I am sure you can find this on the internet by putting in items like "colorado custody law", etc. However, my educated guess would be 14, 15 or 16; I cannot imagine it is any lower than 14. Whichever age is correct; this is the age the judge will LISTEN to the child; the child can testify on the stand or in chambers at this point as to where they want to live. I am awaiting an outcome from a trial May 30 where my 16 year old took the stand to say she wanted to live with her dad. Don't have a ruling yet. However, it depends, I think on what the child will say; if there was truly any abuse, etc, then the judge will definitely listen to the child, if it is just "I want to move"...then the weight is not as heavy, I don't think. Good luck.
