My Husband was areested Saturday for a warrent they said was issued 15 years ago. It is for violation of probation charge , he did the probation for a dui , he went to driving school and got his license back. He has had two ppl hit him in the rear , and was pulled over for speeding through out these years , no warrant then . Why and How could it pop up now, How can we prove he did his Probation ? It was 15 years ago , I didnt keep the papers around , for what ? a reminder . It's crazy , they had no record of him being on probation . Now all the sudden they have a charge against him . I cant afford a Lawyer , we are hurting as it is , he is the bread winner in this House , my job covers Groceries and Gas now . We will lose everything . He has Court Wed. they do not appoint Lawyers in Recorders Court . What is going to happen , How do I prove other wise. You cant get insurance and a drivers license renewed with a Warrant or a charge against you. I truly am scared for him . He paid the price back then and now he pays again ?

Anyway, the statutes of limitations have to do with how long after the crime is committed the government has to file the charges. As soon as the charges are filed, the SOL stops running.

He didn't finish his proabtion and now he is paying for it.

Read it again HE did do ALL probation and paid all fines !! There wasnt a warrant 7 years ago not 10 years ago not 2 years ago , he does background checks for work.
