Hello!

I am asking this question on behalf of a friend,
he had paid his child support directly to his exwife.
About a year ago, he began making payments through Franklin County Child Support as the agency claimed he was
behind on support by over 20,000$.

He had his ex write a noterized letter to Franklin county explaining he was not behind in support, and followed up to discover the agency did receive the letter, but the child support enformenent officials continue to garnish his bonuses and tax returns.

His ex always gives him the garnished money, as she knows he doesn't owe any back support.

so how do you make this sort of thing go away?
A call to the agency results in no response.

Franklin County
Ohio

Thank you

Anna

It is extremely important to ALWAYS pay support payments through the state or county registrar. This is prime example of what happens when it isnt.

The only way to get around it is to continue the way they are doing now, he allow the money to be taken out and she give it back to him.

The reason for this is the county/state has no record of those payments being made. It is basically the word of the obligor and obligee.

When a couple divorces or has a custody/support hearing the orders usually state where the payments are to be sent to for accounting purposes.
