What is the name of your state? California

My contract reads:

The Manager shall be entitled to an annual paid vacation of one week during her/his first calendar year of employment and two weeks for each year of employment thereafter.

Does that mean I can take one week within my first year of employment - or that I have to wait until one year has passed?

My guess is that I can during the first year - but I want to be sure. :)

Thanks,
Este

during her/his first calendar year of employment "During" seems pretty darn clear to me.

If you started this job on January 1st (for example), you're entitled to take a week of vacation before this calendar year is over.
