when do they tell me if they will take income taxes?

The trustee at the creditors mtg never said anything to me indicating that my income tax return for 2004 would be taken all he asked me is if I received earned income credit and I said yes, I guess so. I already received my discharge but noticed it said my case was still open. When do they tell me if they will take my taxes, after I file (which I plan on doing Monday, just in time for the deadline).

The trustee would have let you know if he wanted your tax return before your discharge. You should be just fine.
