I am seeking clarification regarding the disclosure of an expunged criminal charge. In 2006, a fourth-degree charge was dismissed and later expunged. I have not previously needed to disclose this information, except when applying for TSA PreCheck/Global Entry, which did not present any issues.

As I am considering applying for IT positions with various New Jersey state agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection and NJ Courts, I would like to understand if disclosure of the expungement is required during the application process. I want to ensure there are no unexpected issues after employment begins.

I would be grateful for any opinions or suggestions

Thanks
