What is the name of your state? Idaho

This is in relation to another post in a different thread. Which state does the SOL for credit card deliquency count for? Is it in the state you lived in when you opened the account or the state you currently reside in?
<<crossing fingers and hoping it is my current state>>;)

If you are sued, and they sue you in the state where you live, you can try asserting the SOL for your current state. While some here will tell you that the SOL has 'tolled' (paused) because you left the original state before that state's SOL ran out and not to bother even trying the SOL defense, it sure as hell can't hurt to assert the SOL for your CURRENT state.

While the creditor could certainly try to assert another state's SOL has NOT expired, I really do not believe that this happens all that often. In 4 years on 4 different boards, I've not read of a single case where that happened.

Most of these debt collectors expect an easy win when the defendents don't show up to defend themselves and completely ignore the whole thing. Rarely do they have to prove anything or fight the actual defendent in court ! Most of them are wholly unprepared when a defendent DOES show up, they are that ****y about an automatic win ! Most of them have no PROOF either.
