Utah & Colorado
Our business is in Utah, we rent a house in Colorado and have an apt. in Utah. Our drivers licenses and cars are registered in Colorado. I am required to have a residence in Colorado per a divorce agreement.
For the past two years we have rented in both states. I have spent equal time in Utah and Colorado due to shared custody of my children. My husband has spent most of the time in Utah. We have not taken taxable salary in the two years owning the business.
The business BK must be filed in Utah, but can our personal BK be filed in Colorado and use Colorado exemptions accordingly?
Thanks.
