Which state should health insurance be purchased in?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA and NY
My mother has properties in both PA and NY, she lives equally in both states through the year. Is it correct that she needs to purchase health insurance where her driver license was issued from and taxes filed in? Thanks.

That would make sense but make sure whatever plan she chooses has in network doctors available in both areas.

unless you are speaking of some sort of insurance that involves your car, you can buy medical insurance anywhere you want.

There is no requirement that she buy health insurance in either state over the other. She could buy it in California if she wanted to. All that matters is that it will cover her in both locations.
