What is the name of your state? California

Our LL is selling the property that we used to live in. We are physically out of the house, except for some of our property which we haven't moved yet. Our lease is up at the end of the month, so we figure we will take our time with the move and move things as we can.

The LL wants to enter the premises to show the place to prospective buyers. I understand that he has a right to do this as long as he gives us notice. As I said, I have property there, and although I trust the LL, I do not know the real estate agent, who I believe the LL has given a key to.

Is the only way that I can ensure that my property is secure, to move it? I cannot be there everytime that the LL wants to show the place off to someone. He is also unavailable, which is why I believe he gave the real estate agent the keys.

What would be the best course of action here?

Thanks in Advance...

Then you are NOT physically out of the house!!

Nope. There are lots of other ways you can secure the property. Some are:
1) Hire a security guard to stand there 24/7.
2) Put all of your property in one room, toss in an 'attack' Rottweiler and close the door. Be sure to put up a 'Dangerous Dog' sign on the door.
3) Put all of your property in one room and set up a shotgun with a string from the trigger to the door. Again, a warning sign would be helpful.

Cool Ideas from the Jetster...
Also joke shop... get some fake vomit and doggie doo doo.. put it on the most choice looking stuff...

Jeesh... use common sense... get it out of there... they only have to give 24 hours notice... if you aren't there this is just posted on the door so you wouldn't even know when anyway unless you are driving by every day. If you are driving by everyday take a load of stuff to your new place.

To JETX... thanks for calling it an "attack" Rottweiler... I get upset when people just say Rottweiler and assume all are mean... :(

makes sense. i guess i will just remove my stuff. don't have time to rig the house to be LL proof. i guess i just wasn't too sure about whether the LL could allow the real estate agent to do that in the first place. thx...
