What is the name of your state? DC

On the domestic violence site, people said both of us could get fired.

I said hello to my ex-boyfriend and coworker in the lobby.

He started screaming at the top of his lungs, "police, call the police,
this woman has threatened me!"

I did not threaten him.

He then ran to the guard's desk and I said YOU threatened me.

He said, "well, YOU call the police then," and he ran upstairs.

He is going to say that I threatened him in a cell phone call where we were discussing
how he said I am the reason he felt like killing himself and he should kill himself not to be around me anymore.

Both of us talked to HR after the eruption in the lobby and security took an incident report.

HR did NOT listen to my multiple messages from him, including one stating that changing my phone number was a "hostile" act and "all bets are off" and "see how long you can stay out of jail."

Will both of us get fired?

I'm scared because I have to keep working at this place and he is really unstable. What is the name of your state?

Hey, who out there has the FA crystal ball?

It seems that since rmet has semi-retired from the site, nobody has seen the darn thing.

No one here can say whether one or both of you will get fired. However, it would not be illegal to terminate either or both of you for this incident.

I was just trying to find out what people with employment law expertise would say.

Aren't you kind of testy? I mean, I thought this is a place people can go to ask legal questions. I appreciate all answers, but it seems I have a right to ask the question.

Thank you all.

No one here can predict the future. No one here has any clue whether one or both of you WILL be fired.

What we can tell you is that you CAN be fired.

This whole situation sounds silly! I would just blow off the incident as a ex freaking out.

That's because HR/company managements does not want to become embroiled in your personal relationships. All they want is for anyone's personal relationships not to become a workplace problem.

So far, the answer is that

no one was fired.

My boss is asking me questions about what emails
he sent via company email. He sent one that
said "if you stop harming me, you won't go to jail."

It also contained an attachment referring to the
fact that he did not want to sleep "with other
girls."

Also, he got my mother's cell phone number
somehow and left a
message stating:
"I committed lewd sex acts with your daughter."

I did tell my boss this because this was after his blowup.

Now, change your cell phone number. Have your mother change hers. If you tell the provider that you are being stalked, they may waive the fee.

Don't call him. Don't drive by. Don't walk by. Don't go anywhere near his residence. If you see him near yours, call the police.

Don't go by his desk. Don't talk to him. For. Any. Reason.

And for goodness sakes...DON"T GO OUT WITH CO-WORKERS AGAIN! It always ends badly!

Thank you.

After this experience, I have absolutely NO interest in coworkers.

I thought it was okay because when I was first dating him, we were on
separate floors but then I got a job down the hall from him and it was
horrible.

I am grateful for the answers.
