I have a family member that was exposed to asbestos while working in the construction business. They have had severe lung problems at times and have seen a doctor which said the fiberglass from the asbestos in the lungs is causing the problem. They also said that there is no cure for this and that it is like little fish hooks that go past the burrs and can't be removed once they penetrate the lung tissue.

What are the laws regarding this stuff? Does the person affected have to file or can a family member file if something happens to them? California is my location.

I found an article online that gave me some good info on mesothelioma lawsuits.

The injured person should consult with a personal injury lawyer.
