What is the name of your state? FL

Hello all! I, of course, have questions about my wonderful *cough gag* credit report. I'm only 21 and sadly enough, my credit score is VERY low. Stupid decision making and, well, you know the story. BUT-- I just recently received my credit report through Experian and all of my debts add up to a bit over $4,000. I know one is a credit card through BOA and that's all there are for credit cards (thank goodness!). But the rest, I have no clue who the collectors are or how to figure out exactly who I owe to! I'm honestly not too sure if they ever put account numbers on these reports, or how anything goes. SO--- my question to any and all of you is how exactly do I find out who I owe to? And then do I just contact them from there? A new year is beginning and I'm ready to get things straight in this area. ANY help is VERY much appreciated! Thanks =)

It should list a name and address of the creditor right on your report. I would start with contacting that entity and explaining to them you are ready to fulfill your obligations.

If they are in the dark, ask them to send you a letter stating you have no debt owed to them. Then, send a copy to the CRA and ask the reporting to be removed.

First-- What exactly is CRA? I could probably figure it out on my own.. in some way, but I figured i'd ask to be on the safe side.

Secondly-- There's actually no address I see. It just has the
Account Name (which are things like AR Resources).
Account number which are just a few numbers than X's.
Acct type.
Acct Status.
Monthly Payment.
Date Open.
Balance.
Terms.
High Balance.
Limit.
Past Due.
Payment Status.
And then Comments along with 24 month payment history.

So confusing =(

CRA = Credit Reporting Agency

Be careful and make sure you have in writing that if you pay the debt owed that they want start your bad credit from date you last paid, as your bad credit goes from date of last activity. Now I may be wrong with Florida as I am no lawyer but this I have read on here before.

Huh? What are you talking about? If you are by any chance thinking of a PFD (pay for delete) there is no such thing in the real world. Perhaps 1 in 100 collection agencies would agree and half of those won't follow-through on what they said they would do. No OC (original creditor) for JDB (junk debt buyer) is going to agree to a PFD for legal as well as cost reasons.

FOR THE OP:

Where did this credit report come from? I'm guessing you got it online -- in my experience, an online report is harder to read and not always complete -- even worse, the columns do not always line up right when you print it out.

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com. Follow the instructions to request a credit report by mail. The one you get in the mail will be "consumer friendly".
