We bought a mobile home on a rented lot. The same rent was extended to us. Three years later we were asked to move, given a 12 month time frame which we met easily. We sold the trailor and she paid the lot rent, but has not moved the trailor yet, now we're getting snippy calls "I have the contract with you not her it's your responsibilty" Who's right I say once he accepted lot rent she became his renter. Help!!!!!!

Taking rent from someone else does not get rid of your obligations under a lease in most states.

But if they spoke and worked out an arrangement does't that make a new contract? Also the time frame is not yet up(the first of May)He says he losing money on the lot, he's raised the rent, we offered to pay, but he says he doesn't want the money just move the trailor. What can he legally do if she doesn't move in time?

If they signed something called a novation, that specifically let you off the hook, you would not be responsible under the original lease.

Thats just it, theres been no written lease of any kind at any time. Its all been verbal.
Sort of "he said this, she said that"
