 What is the name of your state?Ohio

If any of you have read my earlier threads, you may be aware that i have a real concern for my 14 year old daughters well-being, she recieves alot of mental and verbal abuse from her SM, and the SM convinced the doctor to put my daughter on paxil, I did take the advice given and my daughter meets with her guidance councilor at school and she had to tell the councilor not to tell her father and SM because they would stop her from coming, they had her in counciling last year because her SM said she had a bad attitude but as soon as my daughter told them it was because of her SM treatment they pulled her out. I do not ask my daughter what they talk about I only listen when she chooses to tell me things but i do know that it's still aout SM and father not stepping in because he is never home. I want to know if i requested a GAL for my daughter who pays for that? Her father provides ins. on her, and I know he will object to a GAL especially if he has to pay. But I feel it would be in her best interest and I would have all these records to take to court when i go for custody. Any input or advice will be appreciated.

I know in my case the parents split the cost for the GAL 50/50. are you thinking of going back to court? if not, I don't know how having a GAL will help the situation. Can you get your daughter to counseling during your time with her?

I am not sure about OH law. In CA, if the judge/court order a GAL both parents are responsible for 1/2 (or a % determined by the court based on their incomes); If one parent petitions for the GAL and the court did not order it, the parent requesting pays for it. In cases of indigent parents, sometimes the court will bear all/a portion of the cost. In the end it is entirely up to the judge's discretion. ie; who proves their 'side' of the issue most convincingly. This is *IMO* ;)

Thank you for responding, I will do what I have to do to get help for my daughter and get her here with me, I will get her to counsiling. i usually do all the driving back and forth on visitation because if I don't my ex will 1) bring here late on fridays and 2) Pick her up very early on Sundays. I have
unfortunately tried to work things out with my ex in a civilized manner for too long now, and since he has been married it has gotten so bad, and my daughter gets all the guff, I am now prepared to fight fire with fire because my daughter cannot take much more and is begging me to get her out and it's not just because her SM is a B----h! i have gone over that with her and I know she does what she is supposed to do (my daughter) but whenever my daughter is happy her SM tries to knock her down and keep her miserable because she is..... My ex is in debt, they have a brady bunch family his wife has been married 2x's before and has 2 daughters and he has 2 other sons and 2 babies with his wife, and all the child support pays alot of the bills! and my ex is always gone and he is a wimp, wife sets the rules. YES DEAR!!!!
I just want to know all the ammunition I need to get and all the questions I need to ask before start taking them to court. Is there any law that would apply to taking SM to court for interfering in my relationship with my child and being abusive and manipulating? Thank you everyone.
