A thumbnail of my previously posted situation; My wife of 15ys & 2 children moved from our home in Hawaii to New York to be closer to her family. I said I'd catch up when the house sold. Now 1.5 years later the Hawaii house hasn't sold & my wife will be seeing a lawyer on Thursday, when I leave this New York address, for separation papers (we just couldn't work it out.) I will make an appt. to see a lawyer on Friday.
I have 2 questions; Should I file for divorce in Hawaii instead of waiting for her to do so in NY? Do I assume correctly by filing in Hawaii I can avoid trips to NY over this situation & it would be her burden to travel?

Second, Does this situation, my wife leaving, sound like abandonment? Would she have any claim on the Hawaii home? The NY address is a rented property.

Where do I sign up for the Jerry Springer Show?
