What is the name of your state? SoDak. We were asked to move our roof drain to drain out our back of our building and not the side. Our neighber said they would hire someone to do this being it was their request. They did not hire a roofing contractor or a structural engineer. Nor did he not finish the job, he also did not put an extension pipe to drain the water away from our building. We had a partial collapse of our wall below the ground. Our insurance co. has denied this loss due to the water pressing under the ground on our foundation and also said the faulty and inadequate renovation of the drain system was the cause. Do we have any recourse on our neighbor for not hiring a roofing contractor or the contractor they hired who did not complete the job. This wall collapsed about 6 mths after when he stopped working on this project. He was asked 3-4 times to finish this job and never got to it. Thank you for your advice.
