What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? florida

form I-130 (petition for alien relative) ask the petitioner in question 14b, if you gain residency through marriage?
why? and what effect this would have if I am asking (filing up a I-130) for a relative (new husband?)

thanks!

If it is true, all you have to do is tell them the truth.

Because if one gets LPR status through marriage to a US citizen and then petitions for a new spouse, there are restrictions on how soon that second petition can be approved.

Could you tell a bit more about those restrictions? I'm going to file a petition for my husband, who is in the US illegally. I recently got naturalized, and obtained my LPR status in 2006 through VAWA. Do I still have to answer 14b and are we going to face difficulties with our petition?
Thank you.
