My final edit to 2-09-01 original post, re small claims L/T denial statement. Court return date, 8:15a tommorrow morning, 2-12-01. What do you think? Will it fly OK?

I, _________, deny the allegations and charges brought by former landlords ________ in the above legal proceeding.

I respectfully request the court to grant me an extension or postponement in these proceedings. I do have counterclaims and ask the court for an extended trial date so that I may have time to acquire legal representation and prepare this counteraction.

My denial of the allegations and charges in this action is based on the ________’s exaggerated claims, violations of Wisconsin laws and administrative codes, and failure as landlords to fulfill their obligations under the law.

Thanks,
Leana

Thats clear, simple and to the point......

I wonder if adding... exaggerated "monetary" claims, or exaggerated "monetary and other" claims.... in the 3rd paragraph would make it even clearer.

Thank You Very Much, DJDJ. Perfect addition, looks great, all set to go, even got the response printed out from the computer perfectly on all three forms furnished by the court. :) Except, unexpectedly, one of the printed lines on the form just happens to cut right through the plaintiff's names in the body of the response. looks like a strikethrough. Aw, too bad... Wink.

Thanks, again.
