My husband inherited his mother's social security disability and window's benefits case upon her passing. Her case was won, but the social security office needs a copy of the marriage license or certificate. My husband contacted the county office where his parents were married but the office claimed that they were understaffed and could not find the documents. Is there a way around having official copies of the documents?

My husband has called the SS office everyday for the past two weeks and can not get in contact with anyone local. Several weeks ago a representative from the SS office called from a private number and said that there may be a way around having the documents. However, my husband can't seem to get in contact with this representative again.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
