In December of 2005 my husband's employer was going through downsizing and his position was one that was cut. He was the AGM of a hotel. That was in SC. Since then we have moved to Arizona where he is making only a third of what he was making there and his job just barely pay's for daycare for our 4 children. Would he still qualify for unemployment based on the SC job if he quits this job that he has had here for a few months? Or did he lose his chance for unemployment because he started working even though he now makes considerably less?

He does not qualify for unemployment. What he needs to do is look for a better job. He chose to take a job making only a third of what he was earning. What are you earning? What is your income like?

My income is 3 times his income. He does not want to sit at home on unemployment he is a very hard worker. We wanted to use the time he would be on unemployment for him to look for a good paying job. He does not have time to put in a really good effort right now to find another job because he is working all the time. Working to pay the babysitters basically. Thank you for your answer I figured that was the case. Hopefully the online applying will pay off since he cant go around from place to place because he has to work.
