What is the name of your state? GA

When a will is submitted to the court for probate, is ALL the information and details of the will available to anyone who wants to see it or get a copy of it? I mean, is the whole estate information there, lawyer, executor, heirs names, amounts allocated where, etc.?

Thanks

If probate has just been opened, the allocations have not been done yet. You can just get a copy of the will and name of estate executor. For the other information you need to wait a few months until the estate has been probated.

Thanks DandyDon

Would the will itself have a list of heirs names on it along with the executor's name?

Forgive me for sounding redundant, but I've never seen a will before. :D

Yes, its obvious from your questions that this process is new to you.

The will probably does have the heirs' names shown and possibly the executor's as well. But there will also be a separate page in the probate file with the executor's name and address and the heirs' names and addresses if the executor knows that information..

I'm pretty sure in my state, Indiana, the whole file is open record from day one and you can always walk in and see anything that's been filed, not just a will and the name of the executor.

I think your advice might be incorrect or may be true in your state but not others.

It is YOUR comment that is incorrect. I never said that "JUST" the will and the name of the executor was filed, YOU said that. Obviously if the probate has just begun, there is not going to be much more in the file besides that, but thank you for your clarification.
