What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

My girlfriend has bipolar disorder with violent tendencies(diagnosed by a doctor).
After a incident assaulting her mother, the State of Arizona deemed her a danger to others, sent her to a mental hospital for a month, and was mandated medication and therapy from there on.

She went off her meds and stayed at the homeless shelter(she chooses not to stay at her mom's) . Then she racked up these charges(2 arrests):

SHOPLIFTING <-- (misdemeanor)
CRIMINAL DAMAGEDEFACE <-- (misdemeanor)

DISORDERLY CONDUCT-DISTURBANCE <-- (misdemeanor)
ASSAULT-INTENT/RECKLESS/INJUR <-- (misdemeanor)

Because of these missed court dates, warrants were issued, and now this is her first time in real jail. We're scared that shes going to have to do 6 months in jail. What might happen?

thanks for any advice

She could spend time in jail. Your girlfriend is mentally ill and yet she doesn't care about taking her meds or getting healthy. In fact it seems she wants to use that as an excuse to break the law, hurt others and continue on her merry way. If she doesn't decide to stay on her meds and follow the law she could find herself in prison.

She knew what she was doing was wrong. She just didn't care seems to be what you are saying. And she believes that her bipolar gives her an excuse. It does not.

Or, she was mentally ill enough that she didn't understand the repercussions of not taking her meds. In either scenario, she needs help and jail might be the wakeup call that she needs.
