What is the name of your state? WV
I had a judgement placed against me in 1999 for a car that was repoed in 1986 from 1st marriage. I made a few payments, but lost one of my jobs and was unable to pay the balance. I want to know if this comes back up can they do anything to bank accounts with my new husband? Both our names are on checking account, only his on savings and only his on mortgage. And is there a SOL on judgements in west virginia.

If your name is on the joint account, then the bank account is subject to levy for judgment execution. Get your name OFF the account.

For a repo in 1986, the SOL for being sued in WV ran out long before you were sued in 1999 !!! But, that's water under the bridge now. The SOL for judgments in WV is 10 years, and it might be renewable for another 10 (have to check the statutes). So, you have quite a ways to go before the judgment goes away - and all the while its unpaid its sitting there accumulating interest !
