I do love kids more than hate Dad, problem is that my kids have been beaten by much older kids, endangered, and subjected to alcholism while with Dad. Dad has LOTS of money, and I cannot afford a lawyer again- I mean really cannot. I have tried every avenue- orders of protection, temp orders, etc, but in this county it's one wacky "judge" who doesn't really let you speak if you are not represented. I've been denied on everything despite police reports, school reports of abduction, etc.
My ex boyfriend (Dad) told our families, and myself in last mediation that he was terminating his parental rights. 2 days prior to a cmprehensive hearing before trial, I got a 2 inch thich envelope from his atty about vistation demands. HE HAS NOT MADE AN EFFORT TO SEE OR SPEAK TO KIDS SINCE NOV 2007.
He no longer speaks or corresponds w me regarding kids in any way. He told me he was " f**king w me" by letting my kids come to harm, and he has threatened my daughter and I countless times that he will take her far away and never let her see her mom or grandparents again. He actually has abducted my daughter 3 times, and taken my son out of state once (that I know of). Law enforcement NEVER files charges, except once, but Cnty atty declined to prosecute.
I never wanted to keep my kids from Dad, but my Psychiatrist, their counselor, and many cops, friends and family have convinced me that sometimes NO dad is better than a crappy abusive one.
I have heard that a few peple in similar situs have had an atty appointed to represent them. (unverified). our family therapist feels that Dad is abusive and should not have access anymore.
Of note is the fact that this judge pro tempore does not do interviews in chambers w kids, which is common in AZ (en camera, I think), which my daughter has begged to do for 4 years (She is 10 now). Judge just chooses not to do them.
