CA -- I have an older apt, with those 50's stylel window blinds and one side fell out and I took the other side off. The fallen window screws fell out just out of age. Oddly I rarely use that window. I have mentioned it to the caretaker a few times, then put it on paper twice in February 2016 and March 1, 2016. She still hasn't done anything, I saw her in the yard and she said she'd be back but wasn't. She also lives in fear of the mgr.

I know the manager hates to pay for everything, but I do need to be able to close the window if I chose. It really isn't a bother as I use it for an office but I want to make sure that the caretaker or manager have to fix it. I actually tried but the holes were too big, bldg was built 1949.

btw can I upload a pic?

Send one last notice via certified mail asking for it to be repaired ( keep a copy of the letter with your certified receipt and if they don't have it fixed say in the next two weeks then call city inspections and tell them you had complained to the LL about a window that wont close properly and they still wont fix it. Let inspections come out , see it and order them to repair it.

I was going to..

Buy a couple plastic drywall screws to make the holes smaller and provide compression within the wall.
I actually was going to try getting some sort of plastic filling and push the screws into that, but was wary if I mess it up and they say I'm responsible. Maybe I just might. The mgr does like me.

Fill the holes with toothpicks, break them off flush with the surface and then you can just use the same screws.
