What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI

You spend many months and much money working out a settlement. Final step is to present it to a judge to make it final. Can the EX renig and tell the judge "I don't agree with it." What happens next?

Sure they can. Until a judge signs off on the agreement, it isn't legally enforceable.

What happens next? Either you go back to the negotiations, or you both present your sides to the judge and let him decide for you.

Has the settlement agreement been signed by both parties?
